The Calmes Neck Community may be
accessed via a security gate at the entrance
to the community. The following instructions
describe how the gate can be opened, when
visiting a resident of Calmes Neck.
The Gate is monitored by a Gate Coordinator
who is listed in the
CNPOA
Committees section of this site. |
1. Opening the Gate From Outside the
Community

A visitor should begin by pulling their
vehicle up to the Gate Pedestal, just outside
of the gate. Each property owner's name
appears on a screen at the gate pedestal.
Property owners that are couples without the
same last name are both listed individually.
Someone visiting Calmes Neck can scroll
through the list of names on the screen using
the "A" and "Z" buttons and find a property
owner's name. The visitor should then press
the "CALL" button on the pedestal. The gate
will dial the property owner's telephone
number. If the owner answers the phone when
the gate calls, the owner will be able to
converse with the visitor at the gate over the
phone. The owner may then press keys on his
telephone keypad if he so desires, to open the
gate. Note that once the owner presses keys to
open the gate, the phone call with the visitor
at the gate will immediately be disconnected.
Once the gate has opened, the visitor has
several seconds to traverse through it, after
which the gate will automatically close.
2. Opening the Gate From Inside the
Community
An "exit probe" is buried on the right hand
side of the road as you are going downhill,
approximately 100 feet inside of the gate.
When a vehicle drives by the probe, the gate
will automatically open. If an unusually small
vehicle passes the probe or if the vehicle is
driven on the extreme left hand side of the
road, the probe may not see the vehicle. In
this case, back up and try again, this time
driving closer to the right hand side of the
road. The probe is very sensitive, so this
should not be a common problem.

Access cards and remotes |
Gate access cards and remotes are
available only to residents with deeded access to the use of
Calmes Neck Lane for purposes of ingress and egress.

Access cards are $4.50/each.
There is no charge for the first two cards.
- Remote Controls are
$25/each. There is a $5 shipping/handling fee which is
waived if you pick the remote up in person.

printing. You'll find a "Print" button at the bottom of the
form. Please mail your completed form and a check for
the full amount as directed at the bottom of the form.
